Kanye West has reportedly been banned from performing at the Grammys 2022, as a result of his social media activity.

The rapper has been involved in a series of social media attacks against his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, as well as her lover Pete Davidson. Not only that, but he had also released his music video entitled ‘Eazy’ in which he was shown to be burying Pete alive.
And just when you thought that was bad enough, the rapper responded to talk show host Trevor Noah with a racial slur which handed him an Instagram ban for 24-hours. That has now resulted in him being canceled to the point where he will not be allowed to perform at the Grammys.
A source said: “This is confirmed [Kanye banned]. Our sources say Kanye’s team isn’t surprised by the decision. [It was due to his] concerning online behavior.” On closer inspection, this is not surprising for the following reasons.
First of all, fans already called for the rapper to be banned from another festival. A petition went viral which wanted Kanye to be pulled out of performing at Coachella, as one of the headliners.
While it is not clear whether or not this is going to happen, the very fact of the matter is that the petition gained enough signatures to raise a discussion. Secondly, by all accounts, Trevor Noah is apparently going to host the ceremony.
Therefore, it is hardly going to be a good look for the talk show host to see the person that had made a racial slur against him just recently. Yes it is true to say that Trevor did play the bigger person by not engaging in a verbal back and forth with Kanye.
But it was simply too risky to allow Kanye to attend, not knowing what he would do when confronted with Trevor. After all, the latter was very critical of the rapper’s treatment towards Kim.
This is looking like a very worrying trend for Kanye. If he is not welcomed at major events like the Grammys, then who knows whether other organisations will follow in a similar fashion. We will have to see now this will play out.
