Kaley Cuoco Recalls How She Felt Missing Out On Appearing In ‘Knives Out 2’-‘I Was So Devastated’
Kaley, for her part, was in the running only to be pipped by Kate Hudson. While that may have been the case, the actress was adamant that she would get the part. So when that did not transpire, it naturally left her feeling with mixed emotions.
In an interview with Glamour magazine, she said: “But I was so convinced that my bags were packed for Greece. And then I didn’t get it. I was so devastated. And I’m not [normally] devastated over roles. I had done chemistry reads. I had done Zooms. And I didn’t get it. I cried.”
Nevertheless, it was not all doom and gloom. Kaley expanded upon how her fortunes changed very quickly. The following day, she received a phone call about another movie entitled ‘Cutie.’
This just so happened to be a romantic comedy that was starring Pete Davidson. And after having read the script, she decided to jump on board. By the looks of it, this whole process was a blessing in disguise.
She added: “I said, ‘This is the most magical little script.’ And I would’ve never gotten it if I [got] ‘Knives.’ It just shows you that you’re where you’re supposed to be.”
In reality, the only way of knowing whether Kaley will still have regret is to judge the success of the respective movies. Whether that is done by public opinion, or the amount that it grosses at the box office is ultimately up for her to judge. But in the meantime, fans have already made their feelings clear.
A significant proportion of people were shocked that Kaley had lost out to Kate. And in the process of doing so, they were not convinced that the movie would do as well. One person wrote: “Struggling to see how she would lose a role to Kate Hudson.”
