While there’s no doubt that we all make mistakes, there are some that you just can’t erase from the past and if there’s one person who knows that all too well, it’s Justin Bieber. The chart topper recently reflected on his 2014 DUI arrest and just how much he’s evolved since that moment. Here’s what he has to say.
Justin shared a photo of himself in handcuffs on his Instagram account and wrote, “7 years ago today I was arrested, not my finest hour. Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood and angry at god.. I also wore too much leather for someone in Miami.”

That year Justin was arrested after allegedly racing a yellow Lamborghini under the influence. Later that year he agreed to plead to misdemeanor careless driving and resisting arrest without violence charges. The “Lonely” crooner also agreed to take an anger management course and make a $50,000 charitable donation.
He added, “All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then til now I do realize something.. God was as close to me then as he is right now. My encouragement to you is to ‘let your past be a reminder of how far god has brought you. Don’t allow shame to ruin your “today” let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be. LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART.”
Of course, it didn’t take very long for his fans and followers to comment on the post, with a lot of them praising the singer for all of the progress he’s made since then. Tom Brady wrote, “We live and learn,” while Justin’s manager Scooter Braun said, “Proud of you.” Justin’s Hailey Baldwin, also “liked” the singer’s post.
