Julia Holcomb Speaks Out After Accusing Steven Tyler Of Sexual Assault
Legal action was launched by the 65-year-old claiming sexual assault, offensive contact, and deliberate causing of psychological distress, as mentioned in court papers received by Rolling Stone.
Holcomb, who is supported by her Los Angeles lawyer Jeff Anderson, declared that she has initiated a legal action owing to the California law which temporarily suspended the time limit for childhood sexual abuse victims to bring a case against their abusers.
In her comments, Julia said: “I want this action to expose an industry that protects celebrity offenders, to cleanse and hold accountable an industry that both exploited and allowed me to be exploited for years, along with so many other naive and vulnerable kids and adults.”
The Rolling Stone article also stated that Holcomb had taken legal action, asserting that Tyler had persuaded her mother to appoint him as her legal guardian when she was sixteen. This enabled her to relocate and have an intimate connection with the rock star, which reportedly lasted three years, starting in 1976.
Holcomb claimed to have connected with Tyler at an Aerosmith gig in Portland, Oregon, following her 16th birthday. The four-time Grammy Award recipient was 25 years old then.
The lawsuit declared that Tyler took Holcomb back to his hotel, where they talked about her age and her difficult domestic life. She claimed that he carried out various acts of sexual behaviour on her and then gave her a taxi ride to go home the next morning.
The fans on social media questioned the allegations. This was on the basis that a lot of time had elapsed since the time the incident was alleged to have taken place. One person wrote: “Isn’t it a little late to bring things like this forward?”
