Joss Whedon is facing further bother after new reports have emerged that he had attempted to ruin Gal Gadot’s career.
Joss Whedon ‘Threatened To Harm’ Gal Gadot’s Career
The duo had allegedly come across each other during Joss’ time on the set of Justice League. And Joss had expressed disapproval over how Gal was doing her job. According to Hollywood Reporter, a witness commented on how Joss had been behaving: “Joss was bragging that he’s had it out with Gal. He told her he’s the writer, and she’s going to shut up and say the lines, and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie.”
But things did not stop there. Joss was out to make sure that Gal knew who was in charge, and in response, Joss had “threatened to harm Gadot’s career.” Gal, for her part, was more diplomatic over the situation. She has openly declared that her problems with Joss are over. A statement given by Gal had said: “I had my issues with [Whedon] and Warner Bros. handled it in a timely manner.”
Joss is no stranger to being accused of vile behaviour on set. It was only recently that Charisma Carpenter claimed that Joss was intimidating on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Things were so bad that Charisma has been suffering from his actions’ up until this day. In a message to her fans on Twitter at the time, Charisma spoke of the horror she had gone through.
She said: “For nearly two decades, I have held my tongue and even made excuses for certain events that traumatize me to this day. Joss Whedon abused his power on numerous occasions.” The accusations took a toll on Charisma’s mental health as she began to suffer from elements of PTSD. Although she had received verbal support from her castmates, it did not take away the pain that she is continuing to live by.
She added: “While he found his misconduct amusing, it only served to intensify my performance anxiety, disempower me, and alienate me from my peers. The disturbing incidents triggered a chronic physical condition from which I still suffer.”
