Johnny Depp has taken to social media to promote his new film, City of Lies, and by the sound of the post, there is clearly an underlying meaning.
Johnny Depp Has A Sly Dig At Amber Heard While Promoting His New Film
The actor has recently been embroiled in a legal case against his ex Amber Heard which involved accusations of violence and libel. Thus the social media post should be read in that light. In a post to his fans on Instagram, Johnny wrote: “Thank you to Voletta Wallace and the Poole family for allowing Brad, Forest, myself and the crew to tell this timely and important story.
“Truth is a rare bird. All the more reason to search for it. ‘City of Lies.” This is especially poignant given that Johnny has accused Amber of being dishonest. The latter had stated that she would give the proceeds from her divorce settlement to charity as a way of removing and forgetting Johnny from her life. Naturally, Johnny has disputed her words and called her out on it.
As such, the actor was seeking to show and prove that Amber could not be trusted with her current claims, as evidenced by this conduct. In a previous text message sent by Johnny, he outlined exactly what he was feeling. He said: “No Way she’ll give a dime to anyone!!! Thank f*** she’s gone!!! Makes me sick to think of how hard I tried to make it work.
“Now, Honestly, I wouldn’t touch that f***ing wh*** with a Hazmat suit on!!! What scum. I f***ing hate her!!!” The scandal has not affected Johnny’s movie career as of yet. The producers of City of Lies had initially intended to release the movie in 2018, but they pulled the plug after one of the managers on set had accused Johnny of assault. And yet, despite further allegations from Amber, the movie has still come out.
There may be a contractual agreement that has forced the producer’s hands, or it could be a sign that Johnny is winning the battle. Their case is currently back in court, with a resolution yet to be outlined. One thing for sure, though, there will still be plenty more fireworks to come.
