Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) had a Twitter argument on Monday, with the Republican criticizing Fetterman for changing the Senate’s dress code and the Democrat criticizing Greene for posting Hunter Biden’s “ding-a-ling pics.”

After learning that Fetterman, 54, was wearing his now-familiar shorts and sweatshirt gear appropriate for the Senate floor, Greene, 49, who displayed NSFW photos of the first son during a House Oversight Committee hearing back in July, reprimanded Fetterman.

Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote, “The Senate no longer enforcing a dress code for senators to appease Fetterman is disgraceful. Dress code is one of society’s standards that set etiquette and respect for our institutions. Stop lowering the bar!”

Fetterman responded, “Thankfully, the nation’s lower chamber lives by a higher code of conduct: displaying ding-a-ling pics in public hearings.”

Chuck Schumer, the majority leader of the Senate and a Democrat from New York, said on Sunday that he had instructed the sergeant-at-arms to suspend enforcing the senators’ dress code, which had previously mandated that males wear coats and ties.

The modification has already been given the moniker “Fetterman Rule” after the Pennsylvanian’s fondness for sporting hoodies, baggy button-down shirts, and oversized shorts.

As a result of the revised dress code, Fetterman may now cast his votes on the Senate floor in front of the clerk and C-SPAN cameras instead of yelling “Aye” or “Nay” from the chamber’s entrance.

Last year, Fetterman surprisingly overcame Dr. Mehmet Oz to win Pennsylvania’s Senate seat for the Democrats, giving them a 51-49 edge in the upper house.

He admitted himself to the hospital twice earlier this year, once for dizziness and another for severe depression. Since then, Fetterman has rejoined the Senate, although his May 2022 stroke continues to cause him auditory processing problems.

What do you think? Is this really where we are in this country that these two are arguing over dress codes in the senate? Let us know in the comments below.
