Joe Rogan posted a video on his Instagram apologizing for something he said on his podcast with Douglas Murray. In his recent podcast, Rogan said that people had been arrested for starting fires in California. Apparently, he felt compelled to apologize for this and the video is a bit odd.

Now, Rogan has made mistakes and retractions before, so it’s not that big of a shock. However, what he’s apologizing for seems to be true. A quick Google search for fire arsons will show you that people have been arrested for lighting fires.

He even mentioned this as someone was arrested but it was in a different area. However, there have been multiple news sources that have reported men being arrested for lighting fires in Northern California, along with the gender reveal party and more. So, what is he apologizing for? Some believe it’s because of his new deal with Spotify.

“I fucked up on the podcast with Douglas Murray and said that people got arrested lighting fires in Portland. That turns out to not be true. I was very irresponsible not looking into it before I repeated it. I read one story about a guy getting arrested for lighting fires that turned out to be true, but the other shit I read about people getting arrested for lighting fires in Portland was not true. I repeated it without looking into it and it was a really fucking stupid mistake that won’t happen again.
    I’m sorry.”

As we said, this isn’t anything really new for Joe, but to apologize for something that’s easy enough to look up and see is true seems odd. Many of the comments on his post reflect this, “Why joe gotta apologize for repeating what he heard while media blatantly manipulated the narrative and don’t apologize”, “Imagine if even half of the professional journalists took accuracy this seriously.”, “Joe “Spotify will have no executive power over my content” Rogan”, and “Blink twice if you’re in danger and Spotify is making you say this”.

Do you watch Rogan’s podcast? Do you think he should have apologized for something? Does something seem off to you or is this just a routine “I messed up” video?

What do you think? Is this regular ole’ Joe or does something seem different? Let us know in the comments below.
