Jessica Biel opened up on how the arrival of her son Phineas became such a well-guarded secret.
Jessica Biel Had ‘A Secret COVID Baby’
The actress, who has been married to Justin Timberlake since 2012, had the terrible prospect of giving birth to a child during the pandemic. While the baby arrived without any complications, the circumstances surrounding the actual birth were more complicated than first imagined.
During an interview on the Armchair Expert podcast, Jessica stated how the pandemic made her newborn avoid the spotlight. She said: “I had, like, a secret COVID baby. It wasn’t like it was supposed to be a secret. It was just COVID happened, and then I went to Montana with my family and never left.”
But that was not the only thing that was playing on her mind. At one point, she faced the chance that she may be giving birth all alone without Justin by her side. The hospital rules, in response to the pandemic, bordered on the edges of whether it was suitable for a person to be in the delivery room. Thankfully for Jessica, Justin got the all-clear to accompany her.
She added: “There was a moment there that there was nobody allowed at all…but yes, he was allowed. I think if I had to be there alone…I would have been really scared.” But with everything out of the way, Jessica has been taking her time and enjoying the precious moments with her kids.
And given that Jessica is a mother of two children, she has already noticed some changes in her first son Silas. By the looks of it, he could follow in the same direction as Justin and Jessica. Although it may be pleasing for parents to see their kids following in the same footsteps, Jessica has had a different take on it.
She is hoping that her children choose a different career path. She continued: “I look at these kids, and I’m like, ‘Oh s–t, they’re probably going to be musical. What are we going to do? I don’t want to be that parent to stifle a dream. But man, if my kid would just be like, ‘Let’s go learn about corn in Iowa,’ [I’d be like], ‘Great.”
