Jennifer Lopez’s rekindling with Ben Affleck may have gotten many fans talking, but it is not going to be so easy when it comes to her kids.

Jennifer’s children (Maximilian and Emme) have just had to get over the terrible ordeal of Alex Rodriguez leaving their lives. The news was a shock, especially since Jennifer and Alex were considering the prospect of getting married. Naturally, the last thing they need is a sudden introduction of a new man in their lives.
That is why Jennifer is not looking to put any pressure on her kids meeting Ben. A source revealed: “Jen is reluctant to spring a new special someone in her life on them right away. So that will be phased in slowly, for sure, but eventually, you can count on her wanting her kids to meet Ben.”
Alex’s departure was very noticeable and significant for the following reason. Alex had reportedly been hoping to reconcile for the sake of the children. While that had been a real possibility at one point, Jennifer decided that it was best they remain as friends. Whether Alex will still play a role in Jennifer’s life, for the sake of the kids, is unclear.
But if she does decide to hook up with Ben, it does not look like it can happen. After all, there would be too many competing factions in the family. The fall out, though, has left the kids in shock. The source added: “[He] really doted on them and was a model stepdad. They’ve had to adjust to this new dynamic of him not being around anymore.”
It was not just Jennifer’s kids who liked Alex, though. The latter’s children were very fond of Jennifer too. Therefore, the decision for them to split came with massive consequences. It even led to rumours that Alex may have been jealous of Ben spending time with Jennifer.
And the plans that Alex had with Jennifer have now been scuppered. An insider stated: “A-Rod’s girls and J. Lo’s kids are really close. They wanted to still get together for Easter as a family so their kids could still enjoy the holiday.”
