It’s the show that helped make her a household name, yet Jennifer Aniston found the “Friends Reunion” to be one brutal experience. The Hollywood actress admits that the entire process took her and her former castmakes “down way harder than we anticipated.” Here’s what she has to say.
While on the “Literally! With Rob Lowe” podcast, Jennifer said that filming the reunion alongside her former castmates – Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer – was more difficult than what they had prepared for.
Jennifer Aniston Admits “Friends Reunion” Was Brutal
“It took us down way harder than we anticipated, for sure,” she told host Rob Lowe. “In your mind you think, ‘Oh, this will be really fun to time travel.’ It turns out, ooh, ouch, it’s kind of hard to time travel.”
Jennifer also said it was surreal to be back on the “Friends” set, which apparently hasn’t changed at all in the last 16 years. She said: “You know, [in] 16 years, a lot has gone on for each of us,” she shared. “And 16 years ago, we were all sort of wide-eyed and bushy-tailed, and sort of had our whole lives ahead of us – even though we were heartbroken to say goodbye to these 10 years and this family and these people and the job we all loved to do. It brought so much joy to fans, and ourselves. It was like having a happy pill every single day.”
She added: “So going back there, it’s nostalgic in a way that’s kind of also a little melancholy. Cause a lot has changed, and we have all gone down different roads. Some easy and some not so easy for each of us. It was brutal.”
