Mike’s problems with Jana have been well-documented given the numerous times he has gone on to hook up with other women. Things were not helped by Mike’s sex addiction which failed to keep his promises of staying faithful intact. Jana discovered the full extent of that, much to her horror. In an interview with Extra, Jana confirmed the manner in which she found out.
She said: “Is that, like, the DMs and things like that? Is that cell phone stuff?. That and some more…Let’s just [say] I had no choice.” Even with that very realisation, Jana was not ready to give up on Mike. She has always been vocal about her desire to keep the family unit together for the sake of her children. But with humans ,in general, they all have a certain amount of tolerance.
And for Jana, that had expired. She added: “I wanted so badly to believe this version that he was portraying. It’s just that ultimate betrayal when you realise it wasn’t what it was, and that’s hard to live with.” This ultimately led to Jana staying in a marriage for longer than what she wanted. Jana was sacrificing her own happiness for what she believed to be for the betterment of her kids.
And with that dedication, she can now offer her kids some closure when they are ready to receive it. She continued: “I didn’t leave when I found out about everything five years ago. I wanted to look my kids in the eye and say I did everything I could. It just becomes a point where I have to fight for myself.” Things have moved on very quickly since then.
Mike has already left the house, and the financial consequences from the divorce have been agreed. Jana has been ordered to pay Mike $500,000, and that will finally give her freedom over her finances. And with co-parenting provisions in place, Jana can look ahead to the future. Let us hope that Jana can move on with her life to bigger and better things.
