Jamie Lynn Spears thought that when she released her tell-all book “Things I should have said” (which was originally titled “I must confess” a shout out to one of older sister Britney Spears’ lyrics) that things would be all peachy keen and she would be basking in all the social media love for being “so brave” and “using her voice” but that’s not what the Britney Army has taken from this interview or her subsequent book release, in fact, a lot of people are pretty angry that she would choose now to release a book, all things considered.
In the interview with Good Morning America’s Juju Chang, she detailed some of what she talked about in her book, saying that when she was growing up she pretended things were okay when they were obviously not okay. (Gee, ya think?)
And that her father, Jamie Spears, suffered from alcoholism and that this caused various periods of torment for her over the course of her childhood. She went on to describe a close relationship with Britney, who was 10 years her senior, but also said that over the years that Britney’s behavior became increasingly “erratic” and “paranoid” but to whose judgment remains a mystery there.
She said that she couldn’t speak to Britney’s state of mind and didn’t know how they had ended up where they had ended up, but people online are not having this explanation. Even when she goes on to say that when Britney entered the conservatorship in 2008, she was 17 years old and was about to have a baby and didn’t understand anything about the conservatorship, people didn’t believe her.
They’re also not fully buying that Jamie Lynn tried to get her the help in order to end the conservatorship that Jamie Lynn says that she did – Jamie Lynn maintains that she tried to speak to Britney’s former legal counsel (we’re guessing Sam Ingham) and that it didn’t go in her favor.
She says that each and every time Britney has asked her for something that she has delivered and that she couldn’t help that Britney didn’t “walk through the door” but what she meant by that was really unclear, and fans are not having it. We have to say, to not realize what was going on with your family member for 13 years is pretty hard to believe. Stay tuned!!!
