Jamie Lynn Spears is the only member of the family to not have benefited financially from the conservatorship battle.
Jamie Lynn Spears Did Not Financially Benefit From Britney Spears’ Conservatorship
Britney Spears had just recently lost her right to remove her father Jamie Spears as her conservator, as the court ruled in his favour. While it was clear that Britney wanted her own financial independence, her father had other ideas.
After all, he was getting over $16,000 dollars a month as part of the arrangement. According to The New Yorker, some of the family does benefit from having Britney under their control: “Jamie, Lynne, and Spears’s brother, Bryan, have all spent years on Spears’s payroll, and, as friends who spoke with her at the time recalled, she was increasingly resentful of their efforts to influence her.”
And yet, Britney’s sister Jamie has not benefited financially at all. This would support the idea that she has her sister’s best interests at heart. She has been on hand to make sure that Britney has received support by hanging out with her two kids.
Although that may not have gotten the full publicity and exposure that she may have wanted, it’s clear she has no ulterior motive. In a prior statement given at the time, Jamie confirmed how she wants her sister to be happy. She said: “I have nothing to gain or lose either way. This situation does not affect me because I am only her sister who is only concerned about her happiness.”
This would explain why Britney has had such a fractured relationship with her family. Not only is she wanting to have the right to act on her own, but her family has clearly taken advantage of her.
Instead of making sure that her finances are well looked after, they have not been shy in taking a large proportion of it for themselves. In addition, her documentary entitled ‘Framing Britney Spears’ further divided the family with only one resolution looking to be the best: freeing Britney of any control.
Britney does, at the very least, have her sister on hand to make sure she is fine. And it is probably wise that she keeps keeps things on good terms.
