Jake Paul has had to call off his fight with Hasim Rahman Jr after the latter was allegedly in breach of contract.

Jake Paul V Hasim Rahman Jr Called Off As Latter Fails To Meet Weight Requirements

According to reports, Hasim had failed to meet the necessary weight requirements for the fight. The former had previously had a fight at heavyweight, where his weight was in excess of 260 pounds.

This was a massive increase from where it was expected to be for his fight with Paul, as there was an agreement in place for the weight to not exceed 200 pounds at the weigh in before the fight.

But there were several issues, as Hasim had apparently only lost a single pound since signing the contract. After further negotiations, it was agreed that the weight would be moved to 205 pounds. And yet, it is alleged that Hasim demanded a further increase to 215 pounds which is when the fight broke off.

In an official statement on behalf of Jake, his promotional company Most Valuable Promotions said: “MVP and Jake Paul will not reward someone that has conducted themselves in such a deceiving and calculated manner. Therefore, MVP is left no choice but to cancel the August 6th event.”

This is not the first time that Jake has had to call off his fights. This had also happened with Tommy Fury on two occasions. In the first instance, Fury pulled out with an apparent injury.

Then in the second attempt, Fury was prevented from entering the United States, as visa issues could not be resolved. And all of this casts question marks over where Jake goes next.

The fans on social media had a lot to say about this. And in the process, they slammed Jake’s excessive contractual stipulations. One person wrote: “Lol, dude talking about professionalism but wanted a heavyweight to become bulimic to fight him.”

So who will Jake end up fighting next? So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
