Jacob Blake is arguing that race is at play in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, saying if the guy was not white, he’d very likely be thrown in prison without a second thought. The very man that was involved in a police shooting that sparked the Kenosha riots where Rittenhouse shot and killed two people, has said that it is because of ‘white privilege’ that Rittenhouse isn’t in jail.
Of course, this is a very controversial statement, and this has divided the country recently. Blake claims that the infamous photo of Rittenhouse at the bar after posting bond shows the then 17-year-old flashing a sign that means ‘white supremacy’.
This sign has not been associated with white supremacy until recently, and has always been known to represent ‘okay’.
Jacob Blake Says Kyle Rittenhouse Would Be Imprisoned If He Wasn’t White
According to Blake, the entire Rittenhouse trial and aftermath is all part of a larger, unresolved issue between police and people of color. Regardless of the jury’s verdict for Rittenhouse … Jacob says he hopes people will refrain from more rioting. Blake also said he forgives Officer Rusten Sheskey for shooting him 7 times and harbors no ill will toward him or his family.
As for Kyle, the American judicial system will continue to work and the jurors will decide if Kyle is guilty or not. They have been deliberating since closing arguments Monday and have been harassed and followed by reporters, making many believe that they are being intimidated into voting one way or the other.
If anything, it’s disgusting the way the jury has been treated, and in a fair trial, no one would have any contact with these people. The decision weighs in the balance and we will have to await the verdict like everyone else.
Guilty, or not guilty, Kyle Rittenhouse will be judged accordingly, and his skin color has nothing to do with it. Rather, his actions will dictate what happens.
