Britney Spears has been silent over a decade, following the events that led to her conservatorship. The singer and actress has made it clear she was not allowed to speak, but things have changed a lot in the past six months. Following her explosive statement in court, things started moving quickly.
Before 2021 was over, the singer would be free and back in control of her life. Since that day, the singer has spoken out via her social media. Now, there’s talk she might be taking it up a notch. Here’s what you need to know.
Britney Spears speaks out
Since those first days of her getting control back, Spears began making brief hints at her true feelings and what happened over the past decade-plus. This has evolved into a video, as well as several lengthy posts on her social networks. Most recently, she’s been disputing her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears’, statements in her new memoir, Things I Should Have Said.
One recent post claimed there was an incident with a knife. Britney took to social media to call the story a lie and express her confusion about where the story came from. These moments have led to a back-and-forth between the pair. This culminated in lawyers getting involved, but the tables might be turning.
Is Britney Spears next?
A recent report on the Daily Mirror claims the next book might come from Britney herself. A source is quoted in the story as saying, “Britney is absolutely ready to explode. She’s livid at the way Jamie Lynn has represented a version of their relationship like nothing that resembles her truth.”
It wouldn’t be surprising in this is in the works. As was pointed out in a video on Popcorn Planet, there has to be a lot of interest in a book from Britney Spears. Her conservatorship has captured news headlines as well as inspiring action in the legal system to make changes in the system to protect conservates.
It also wouldn’t surprise us on another level. Britney has been very vocal on her Instagram, but she’s also made it clear in one post directed at her sister she doesn’t feel ready to actually get up and do an interview. So, writing a book would allow Spears to tell her story in her own words. A book can be a lengthy process, which means she’d be able to deal with and process her story while taking the time to psyche herself up for getting on TV.
Complications with a Britney Spears book
There are probably a couple of things that might keep her from doing the book right away. Obviously, there is still a lot of stuff to deal with, as we keep hearing about court documents being filed. Also, as we mentioned, the sisters’ lawyers have been sending letters. So, they might want to take the time to resolve any pending issues before Britney gets her side out there.
Also, with everything that’s happened and continues to happen, Britney might not be ready to make any deals just yet. Nor might she want to risk getting pulled into a press tour for the release right now. So, we’ll see how this turns out. What we do know is, we’re sure that when/if this project happens, it will likely be a huge seller.
