Angelina Jolie wants to take a step back in her divorce proceedings from Brad Pitt. Now, that’s not because the Hollywood actress is having a change of heart but rather because she’s perhaps not too happy with how the divorce has been going so far. In fact, a new report says that Jolie wants a new judge to take over their case. Here’s what you need to know.
According to Page Six, Angelina is apparently none too pleased with the terms surrounding the custody of the ex-couple’s six kids and her request for more child support. She wants Judge John W. Ouderkirk disqualified from the case because her team thinks that he has not been forthcoming enough about the other cases he has presided over.
Is Angelina Jolie Trying To Stall Her Divorce From Brad Pitt?
Documents in the case state that during the Jolie-Pitt proceedings, Ouderkirk has allegedly “failed to disclose the cases that demonstrated the current, ongoing, repeat-customer relationship between the judge and [Pitt’s] counsel.” However, one source close to the situation believes that this might just be a delay tactic on her end.
The source said, “Jolie is basically trying to fire the private judge overseeing their divorce case. She has every right to do this, but if she thought she was in a good place in this legal proceeding, she wouldn’t need to do it. This is a classic case of someone expecting a bad decision trying to delay the process by asking for a new referee.”
A source from Team Pitt believes that while the actor has sought to keep the same judge and wants to make sure that all of their family’s personal details are kept private, it’s Angelina Jolie who is wanting to make things public.
“This is about how much time Brad gets with the kids, how does sharing time with the kids work … This divorce has been going on for four years, for goodness’ sake.” So far neither Angelina Jolie nor Brad Pitt have made any comments about their divorce.
