The Iranian government has used Prince Harry’s revelation that he killed 25 Taliban members in Afghanistan to criticize Britain in the midst of the intensifying dispute regarding the execution of Alireza Akbari.

In a series of tweets castigating Britain’s indignation about the execution of the British-Iranian dual national who was accused of espionage, Iran maintained that Britain was not in a position to give advice.

The Twitter account of the Iran Foreign Ministry censured the Duke of Sussex for not expressing repentance over the extermination of lives and censured Britain for permitting this.

In a post on Twitter, a representative said: “The British regime, whose royal family member, sees the killing of 25 innocent people as removal of chess pieces and has no regrets over the issue, and those who turn a blind eye to this war crime, are in no position to preach others on human rights.”

Akbari, 61, had obtained an investment visa to move to the UK and had become a citizen of the country, but was tricked by security services to return to Iran. He was arrested in 2019 and charged with spying for the UK, which he denied.

His death evoked strong condemnation in Britain and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has expressed his anger. Much in the same way, Harry’s remarks have brought worries over security and have served as a tool for extremist Anjem Choudary to spread hate against British troops.

The former soldier wrote in his book, Spare, about how he had killed 25 militants while in Afghanistan, and that he felt neither pride nor guilt over his deeds. He further mentioned that to cope with the situation, he viewed his targets as ‘chess pieces.’

Harry’s comments have generated strong condemnation, which is why it is probably not wise to have disclosed this. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
