Iggy Azalea has come out and confirmed that Britney Spears did ,in fact, suffer maltreatment at the hands of her father, Jamie Spears.
Iggy Azalea Backs Britney Spears’ Claims That Her Father Was Mistreating Her
Britney, for her part, was recently denied the chance to remove her father from his conservatorship role. Although Britney had been verbal in expressing the horrors she went through, such as not being able to marry her boyfriend Sam Asghari, the judge failed to meet her demands.
Iggy, though, stood by the claims that Britney was making by backing them up. In a post to her fans on Twitter, Iggy let them know exactly what she saw herself. She said: “I personally witnessed the same behaviour Britney detailed in regards to her father.
“I saw her restricted from even the most bizarre and trivial things.” This led to fans questioning why did Iggy not speak out earlier. After all, it is no secret that Britney has been suffering for some time. Well, it all occurred during the Billboard Music Awards in 2015, where Iggy was forced to sign an NDA over what she had seen.
Naturally, with the case out in the open, it seemed appropriate for her to give her take on it. She added: “[He] told me if I did not sign an NDA, he would not allow me on stage. The way he went about getting me to sign a contract sounded similar to the tactics Britney spoke about last week.”
With Britney having been denied the chance to have her freedom, she will have to decide where she goes from here. But what we do know is that Jamie has an apparent history of making people sign documents in order to prevent them from getting the truth out.
Iggy went on to confirm as much: “Jamie Spears has a habit of making people sign documents while under Duress, it seems, and Britney Spears should not be forced to co-exist with that man when she’s made it clear. This is not right at all.”
Whatever happens with Britney going forward, It was great to see Iggy backing her. And yet, is it a case of too little too late?
