Hugh Grant faced backlash from the online community due to his uncomfortable exchange with Ashley Graham during the Oscars red carpet interview.
Hugh Grant Slammed For His Rude Oscars Interview-‘Just An Arrogant D— All The Time’
The actor was asked routine questions by the model, and he provided concise answers. During the conversation, Graham inquired about the actor’s preferred aspect of the Oscars, and Grant responded that he found it captivating to have such a diverse representation of people in one place, calling it a “vanity fair.”
Graham assumed he was talking about the Oscars party held by Vanity Fair, but a lot of people on the internet think that he was referring to a location or situation that is defined by lavishness and showiness, as described by Merriam-Webster.
In addition, Grant was asked if he had any favorites to root for, but he responded by saying that he did not have a particular favorite.
The subject of fashion was brought up, and he was asked about his attire, to which he simply replied that he was wearing a suit, crediting his tailor when prompted further.
The interviewer also inquired about Grant’s appearance in “Glass Onion,” but he dismissed it, saying that he only appeared for a brief three seconds and did not have much fun during the filming process.
That did not go down well with many people, who let everyone know in no uncertain terms that Grant had crossed the line.
This was on the basis that he was coming across as entitled and rather rude. One person wrote: “Is Hugh Grant just an arrogant d— all the time?
“He was so rude to Ashley Graham on the red carpet, complete with an eye roll. Maybe he should stay home if he’s too good for his industry of choice.”
Despite this being the case, others began to defend the actor. This was on the grounds that they felt the questions were not compelling, with serious question marks over the reporter’s ability.
Another person stated: “That’s what happens with a “model” with an IQ of about 80 is asking the same 5 questions of everybody who stands in front of her.”
Hugh has yet to respond to this which is understandable, but based on what we have seen so far, things are not looking good.
