Things might not be perfect between them, but it’s also not the worst, either. Honey Boo Boo is setting the record straight about her on-again and off-again relationship with her mother, Mama June. While the young reality television star says things aren’t “110 percent” yet, at least things are going in the right direction between them.
In an interview with ET Online, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson opened up about where she and her mother, Mama June Shannon, stand at the moment.
Honey Boo Boo Sets The Record Straight About Her Relationship With Mama June: “It’s Not 110 Percent Fixed”
Speaking about their ongoing rift, she said, “I feel like right now, we’re definitely working on us and trying to fix the relationship. I don’t feel like it’s 110 percent fixed, but it’s definitely getting there, that’s for sure.”
And even though Mama June is filming a new series called, “Mama June: Road to Redemption” on WE tv, she’s still making an effort to be a present parent as much as possible.
“We see a lot of each other during production, because we film five days a week, and so, I live probably 15 minutes from there now,” June explained. Mama June also said that singing with Honey Boo Boo on “the Masked Singer” was an experience she’ll never forget.
She said, “It was very emotional. It was kinda great that it was coming from our 10-year anniversary of being on reality TV, that happened Oct. 12 of this year, just last month and now we’re on The Masked Singer, which is huge for both of us because Alana did Dancing With the Stars, and for us, it’s one of the biggest things that we’ve done in our career. So, I’m hoping that with everybody seeing that, we can do more projects similar to this one.”
