Hollywood actor Tim Allen has condemned the decision of Russia to attack Ukraine.

The two countries have been engaged in a bloody war, which has no signs of ending despite the attempts of the international community to put pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin. This has included measures such as sanctions, as well as various sporting authorities deciding to punish those representing Russia.
While there are attempts being made to bring a resolution as soon as possible, for Tim, he could not hold back on his disdain for Putin. In an official statement, he said: “My mind and body are full of anger and disgust at the coward putin ghouls that have attacked a sovereign country.
“This is the definition of wrong. My head, heart and soul pray for the people of Ukraine. F-putin.” Tim’s actions follow a long list of celebrities, who have spoken out against Russian aggression. This has included some names such as Ashton Kutcher, as well as Sean Penn.
And given that Tim has a huge public platform that could influence a lot of people’s opinion, he felt that it was necessary to make his feelings very clear. And outside of any political pressure that people can apply, the only thing left to do was hope that the conflict would end.
He added: “Pray if you will for all those attacked today by the Russians.” Nevertheless, not everybody was receptive to what Tim had to say. But rather than questioning his words, this criticism was directed towards the actor’s apparent support for former United States President Donald Trump.
The latter did, after all, refer to Putin as a ‘genius.’ Clearly, those comments did not age very well given what we know now. One person wrote: “I love you but, didn’t your boy trump call him a genius for the invasion? Might be time to rethink who you support.”
Regardless of what you think about Tim, it is very clear to see that something has to be done to bring this conflict to an end. What that should be is not an easy answer, as any measures designed to combat this could equally backfire.
