British Royal Family News indicates that the real reason behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to ‘Megxit’ from the royal family has been revealed. Apparently, the couple were hoping to make a difference on the international stage. They didn’t want to become just another royal couple that went from one royal engagement to another, like many often do. Here’s what you need to know.
Speaking Australia’s 9Honey website, royal expert Katie Nicholl says it was apparent from the start that Harry and Meghan had an agenda from the outset in wanting to become financially independent royals. Unfortunately for the couple, Queen Elizabeth made it clear from the start that they couldn’t have one foot out the door and one foot in and that’s why Harry and Meghan made the ultimate decision to step down from their positions as full-time working members of the royal family altogether.

Nicholl said in her interview, “I was told from a very early stage in their courtship, they had told a friend of Harry’s that Meghan met quite early on that they wanted to be international roving royals and that was going to be their focus.”
In other words, Harry and Meghan didn’t want to be stuck with a life inside of the palace and instead wanted to make a difference on the world stage. However, their new life in Los Angeles isn’t turning out to how they expected it to be. The couple have had to put many of their goals and plans on pause because of the global pandemic that is the coronavirus (Covid-19). “They had an agenda from the outset — to be international royals. This is a very strange time for us all, but I think Harry is missing having a structure in his life right now. He doesn’t have friends in L.A. like Meghan and he doesn’t have a job.”
