The DC Universe has had its own share of mixed reviews and criticism, however, one thing most people agree on is 2013’s ‘Man of Steel’. While some people may look at it as too dark of a take on Superman, others see it as a journey of hope and self-discovery.
One of these golden moments came after Kal-El meets the consciousness of his father on one of their crashed ships. He is told about the power he possesses in the Earth’s sun and how he can be the key to hope for these people. In the now-famous scene, Superman walks outside in the bright yellow sun and begins learning how to fly!

The scene is a powerful moment, not just for this legendary character, but for us the viewers as well and the idea that we are more powerful than we believe. Perhaps the greatest little moment in this whole thing is the end, where we get a fantastic throwback and homage to the way Christopher Reeve’s Superman would fly up above the Earth.
Fans of the film commented on the clip, “They don’t make movies like this anymore.”, “man of steel” is the best movie ever made of superman, Henry Cavill was born for the role. Please WarnerBros , we need a sequel !!!” and “Best scene ever. Can’t wait for the Snydercut.”.
It definitely makes it to the top of some of the list of my favorite scenes as both a fan of superheroes but also films in general!
