Princess Eugenie marked her 35th birthday today on March 23rd. She was born in 1990 and baptized at St. Mary Magdelene Church in Sandringham.
Eugenie Was The First Royal Infant To Have A Public Baptism
Eugenie made history when she was the first royal infant to have a public baptism. She is the daughter of Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and Prince Andrew, Duke of York.
Eugenie married her husband, Jack Brooksbank, in October 2018 at St. George’s Chapel. Mutual friends introduced the couple on a ski holiday in Switzerland. Her mother took to Instagram this morning and posted a heartwarming tribute.
Eugenie’s mom shared a carousel of memories and a sweet throwback photo of little Eugenie walking hand-in-hand with Sarah and her sister, Princess Beatrice.
She also shared a more recent snap of an epic birthday cake for Eugenie, along with an array of other pictures on her Instagram story.
Captioning the post, the Duchess of York wrote:
“Wishing a wonderful birthday to my beloved daughter, Princess Eugenie! It has been a joy to watch you grow into such an extraordinary person, full of kindness, wisdom, and strength.”
She added,
“Your generosity and warmth brighten the lives of so many, and I am endlessly proud of all that you do. With all my love on your special day.”
Meanwhile, Eugenie posted on her own Instagram that she was seated at a picnic table with the two sons she shares with her husband. August is four, and Ernest is two.
March has been an eventful month for Eugenie. She attended Cheltenham Festival’s ‘Style Wednesday’ with her cousins, Zara Tindall and Queen Camilla.
The purpose of the festival is to “dress to impress,” as Eugenie arrives wearing a full-length burgundy coat by Hobbs and a matching hat.
Eugenie Is The Director At The Art Gallery Hauser & Wirth In London
Eugenie has also been quite busy this year with her work at Hauser & Wirth in London, which is a contemporary and modern art gallery. She joined the staff in 2015 and has been the director of the gallery since 2017.
Princess Eugenie, the granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II, “always wanted to be an artist” and studied art history and English literature at Newcastle University.
In Eugenie’s documentary, “My National Gallery,”
She shared,
“I remember going to the National Gallery and just sitting and drawing, and now when I go around a gallery, I see all the young people doing that, and I’m like, “I used to do that.”
She continued,
“I wish I could find my drawings from those moments when I was a student right in front studying and looking and learning all about history and art.”
Eugenie is a patron of the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital Charity, the Scoliosis Association UK, Tate Young patrons, and Anti-Slavery International.
Being a Patron of The Royal National Orthopedic Hospital Charity is a cause close to Eugenie’s heart because she was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 12 and underwent corrective surgery. Now, she helps other children with the same diagnosis.
While Eugenie is not a working royal, she is a hard worker and stepped up when King Charles and Kate Middelton were receiving cancer treatment. She’s a valued member of the royal family and is very active in her philanthropic work.
