Greyson Chance, who happened to be a mentee of Ellen DeGeneres, has bashed her controlling personality.
Greyson Chance Slams Ellen DeGeneres Despite Previously Being Signed By Her-‘Became Domineering And Way Too Controlling’
The 25-year-old first came across Ellen when a video of him performing the song “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga went viral. As a result, Greyson ended up appearing on the star’s former talk show when he was only 12. As a result, Chance signed for Ellen as an artist.
This had arrived on the back end of Ellen apparently promising to protect the star from the dangers of being in the spotlight. And yet, it seems his experience turned out to be anything but that once touring became demanding.
In his comments, Greyson said: “[She] became domineering and way too controlling. My whole week, my whole month, my whole year could change [with] one text message from her. That was horrible.”
That element of control only got worse. Greyson expanded on how Ellen wanted him to model his career on Justin Beiber. And as part of that process, she suggested that he watch his documentary called, ‘Never Say Never.’
However, when Greyson did not watch it, things got out of control. Ellen apparently berated Greyson’s mother by bashing her. His following comments confirmed as much: “[She said to my mom], What type of mother are you? Disappointed isn’t even remotely what I’m feeling right now.”
With that being said, Ellen has previously been called out over claims that she developed a toxic working environment on the show. While that may have been the case, she denied doing anything of the sort.
But that did not stop the fans on social media from having a lot to say on the matter. And in the process of doing so, they slammed Ellen’s behaviour as being out of order. One person wrote: “He isn’t even the first to speak about how she treats people.”
