Regardless if he is alive or dead, everyone wants answers. As Brian Laundrie has been missing for about a month now, cadaver dogs have been requested at the preserve site where Brian was last known to be. Brian is presumed to be a suspect in the disappearance and death of his fiance Gabby Petito. Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, investigators have added a cadaver dog as part of their ongoing, exhaustive search of the 25,000-acre Florida preserve where Brian Laundrie had supposedly last gone on a hike. Brian is the sole person of interest in the death of his fiance, Gabby Petito.
Brian Laundrie Missing For One Month: Cadaver Dog Requested At Preserve Search
He has been missing since mid-September, but his parents say that he might have went into a nature reserve in Sarasota County, Florida.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, which has been the focal point of the FBI’s hunt for Laundrie since he vanished a month ago, said the human remains detection dog was requested. A spokeswoman said the animal was provided at the request of both the FBI and the local North Port police department.
Nothing has been found yet, but Laundrie family attorney Steve Bertolino said last week, “Hopefully, Brian will be located soon.”
With that said though, a lot of people can’t help but question if he was even in the snake-and-alligator infested preserve in the first place, or if he might still even be alive. And while Brian Laundrie sightings have flooded law enforcement offices in multiple states — from Montana to Alabama to North Carolina. No tips have panned out so far.
Even though he is not a suspect in the Gabby Petito death, he does have an outstanding arrest warrant out for him. It involves a single count of debit card fraud. Investigators haven’t said whose card Brian Laundrie is accused of illegally using, but they have said they believe it was used during a time that Gabby Petito was already dead.
