If you’re familiar with the Gabby Petito case then you’ll know the name Brian Laundrie, the FBI has been on a manhunt for five weeks trying to find Brian Laundrie in order to get justice for the murder of Gabby Petito, because he was the main person of interest in the case.
Today, some of Brian Laundrie’s belongings were found in an area that was previously inaccessible due to being under water, it consisted of a backpack, a notebook, and partial human remains.

It is not said whether or not the remains are actually Laundrie’s, the FBI has not received confirmation yet and won’t likely for at least the next couple of days, but it’s looking more and more like this was Brian Laundrie’s final resting place. Since the notebook belonged to Laundrie, and if he is indeed deceased, this could provide some interesting insight into what his final days were like, or at least what was going through his head.
He might have left behind a note for his family, or an explanation as to why he did the things he did. We do know that Laundrie was an artist, so it could just be a sketchbook of sorts, in which case… we might not ever know what was going through his head.
The FBI said that the office in Denver, Colorado, would be taking over from here… why Denver? As we understand it, neither Gabby nor Brian had any ties to Denver, but that’s what the FBI statement said, and any and all questions should be directed at them.
Okay, but what would Denver know that the Florida and Wyoming branch does not? As far as we know neither Brian, Gabby, nor any of their family has any ties to Denver, but perhaps Denver is just better equipped to handle this kind of case? Odd to think about, but definitely some food for throught.
Experts are saying that even if the notebook provides valuable insight into Brian’s last thoughts, if it was under water there may be considerable damage. Ever spilled water on a notebook? This one has been under water for around 5 weeks, so whatever was on the pages may have already washed away by now. As for the rest of the contents of the backpack, they are unknown right now.
