Former Miss USA and correspondent for TV tabloid show, Extra- Chelsie Kryst jumped to her death on Sunday morning. Her body was found at around 7am on the sidewalk outside of her Orion Condominium building, where  the 30 year old resided until her untimely death.

Though her family did not confirm the cause of death, the New York Police Department confirmed that Chelsie had taken her own life by jumping from a high floor of the building.

“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Chelsie,” the statement from her family, who asked for privacy as they grieved, read. “Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”

Chelsie was representing North Carolina when she won the coveted Miss USA title in May, 2019. In October of that same year the beauty with brains- Chelsie was a lawyer- joined the revamped entertainment news program “Extra” as a correspondent, working alongside host Billy Bush and fellow correspondents Jennifer Lahmers, Renee Bargh and Nate Burleson.

In making the announcement of Chelsie joining the Extra team, Senior Executive Producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey said, “Cheslie Kryst is a moment-making machine. She’s not only Miss USA, she’s a lawyer with a powerful platform for women.”

Now a far more heart broken statement has come from the shaken Extra family. “Our hearts are broken,” the statement made on Sunday began. “Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show, she was a beloved part of our Extra family and touched the entire staff.  Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends.”

We here at Daily Soap Dish also send our condolences to Chelsie’s loved ones.

    R.I.P. Chelsie.
