Former America’s Next Top Model Judge Janice Dickinson Has No Regrets Over Her Treatment Towards The Contestants

‘America’s Next Top Model,’ judge Janice Dickinson has no regrets over the way that she came across on the show.

This revelation arrives on the back end of Tyra Banks admitting that she may have spoken insensitively towards members of the show. Although that may have been the case, Janice has had no regrets about her conduct.

This is entirely understandable due to the fact that modelling is a very cut-throat industry. Therefore, any comments that are made should not be taken personally. Not only that, but given that the show had become somewhat of a reality one, there is the pressure to generate talking points in order to get more ratings.

With that being said, Janice would not have changed things. In her comments, she said: “Um, no. It was acting. And that’s that. People forget that TV is acting.”

Janice was ultimately responding to claims that her comments may now be perceived as ageist or body shaming. This may have some credence due to the fact that the perception towards models has changed.

There are an increasing number of plus-size models, something which in the past was not heard of. And yet, Janice faced backlash when a recent clip of her criticising model  Robin Manning on the basis that she was plus-sized and therefore should not win the competition resurfaced.

And all of this portrayed Janice in a negative light, which was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. A significant proportion of people bashed her, and in the process of doing so, they questioned whether Janice was just acting.

One person wrote: “Iconic, yes. But that Coke Muppet definitely WAS NOT acting. Is it just me or if she was Benjamin Buttoned, her old young self would be Selena Gomez.”

It is fair to say that Janice’s approach would not hold up now on television due to the fear that people could get canceled. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
