Andy Cohen is keeping it real as he explores the world of reality television in a seven part limited series.
For Real: The Story of Reality TV will explore the origins of the polarizing world of “unscripted” entertainment. While revisiting iconic moments, Cohen will sit down with the memorable names who made the genre a worldwide phenomenon.
A reality connoisseur, Cohen hosts Bravo’s late night talk show, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. He is also the host of Radio Andy, a pop culture channel on Sirius XM.
For Real: The Story of Reality TV docuseries is coming to E!
“I’m thrilled to look back at the shows that formed my love for reality TV and interview the icons of the genre,” he said of hosting E;s new docuseries. “This series is like great candy.”
A preview that dropped Friday showed clips of Jason and Molly Mesnick from The Bachelor, Mama June from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, the Jersey Shore Crew, Kardashians, Housewives, Biggest Losers, Survivors and more.
In each of the seven episodes, the show will explore pivotal themes from the world of reality television and examine the cultural impact it has had on the world over the decades. It’s been promised to feature untold stories, never-before-seen footage and include commentary, inside info and shocking revelations from industry pioneers, producers and journalists.
Some names teased to appear alongside Cohen are Lisa Vanderpump (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules), Nev Schulman (Catfish), Jazz Jennings (I am Jazz), Clay Aitken (American Idol) Richard Hatch (Survivor), Russ and Paola Mayfield (90 Day Fiance) and Omarosa Newman (The Apprentice)- that one should be interesting to watch!
A highlight of the docuseries will be the long-awaited and tearful reunion of cast members of the first season of ‘The Real World’–20 years in the making.
