In the aftermath of Will Smith’s shocking slap of Chris Rock at the Oscars, Jada Pinkett Smith came out with a social media post about healing.

The implication is that Jada was clearly impacted by the incident in more ways than one. Not only was she hurt by the joke, as it centred upon a sensitive issue that being her hair loss as a result of Alopecia, she has also had to stand by and watch her husband receive a huge amount of criticism.
But given that Chris will not be filing charges, coupled with the fact that Will has apologised for his conduct, Jada felt it was time to put behind any negativity and move on. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Jada said: “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.”
And by the looks of, Jada has already begun to take that advice. In the picture here, we can see that Jada is surrounded by her family and friends at the Oscar afterparty. She has a huge smile on her face, as she is dancing. Clearly, any sign that the incident had affected her seems to be at the back of her mind.
Nevertheless, Jada’s social media post generated a lot of talking points. And by the sounds of it, people were not impressed by what she had to say. This was on the basis that while she did have a point in stressing the need to heal, she should have been more explicit about who she was directing this towards.
After all, Chris was the one who had suffered the most from this, irrespective of the fact that Jada’s feelings may have been hurt. One person wrote: “Love that @jadapsmith disabled comments on this post. I’m going to assume she meant @chrisrock’s healing,”
While another person stated: “What a bunch of bs! Maybe Jada should stop telling the world her family secrets/bad. How about she starts the healing process with that.” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
