Former SNL writer Kevin Brennan callously mocked the death of beloved “Friends actor Matthew Perry. This has-been took it upon himself to take to social media and leave this message:

“DROWNED IN A HOT TUB, HAHAHAHA.”

Brennan, who has a very humorless podcast, chose to mock the cherished “Friends” actor instead of being human and expressing his condolences. Matthew Perry’s fans were understandably outraged.

Brennan Remarks, “I Do Love it When Junkies Die.”

    Brennan responded by saying,

“I didn’t mock it. I just thought it was funny. But I do love it when junkies die.”

Perry’s fans went ballistic on him.

    One person said,

“So you think heart attacks and death are funny? No wonder you’re a low-level comedian, your not funny.”

    One user asked Brennan,

“Why is drowning in a hot tub funny?” Brennan said, “Because it’s not very deep.”

    Another person said,

“It’s not at all anything to laugh about!!!! You’re gross for thinking otherwise. You realize people can go into cardiac arrest and die in any surrounding, don’t you?”

    Someone else said,

“No wonder I had no idea who you were until the comment got picked up. At least people knew who he was.”

    Another person made this comment,

“Imagine having to write something negative about someone of significance just to feel relevant.”

    Someone else sniped at Brennan,

“Definition of a pathetic attempt to get attention right here. I didn’t know you existed until today, and I can see why.”

    Brennan is a Jealous Comedian

    Others remarked,

“Jealous you won’t be mourned when your time comes, eh?”

    “Really sad human being.”

    Someone else said,

“Who the hell says I love it when junkies die? Read the room.”

One person took a jab at Brennan,

“I feel bad even giving you the attention you did this for. The funny thing is, if you drowned in a bowl of cereal, you still wouldn’t be a headline. I do, however, wish to read that headline.”

Others said that Brennan was “disgusting,” “gross,” and an “irrelevant hack.” for his comments on social media.

Despite the outrage on social media concerning the insensitivity of his comment, Brennan went back on social media to respond to everyone. He simply asked,

    “Am I trending yet?”

Kevin Brennan worked as a writer for Saturday Night Live for two years. He wrote jokes for Weekend Update in 1999 and 2000. Don’t remember him? No one does.

In addition to his not-so-impressive podcast, which is going nowhere, Brennan is also a stand-up comedian. He has been a guest on David Letterman and Conan O’Brien.

It should come as no surprise that Kevin is known for what is called “insult comedy,” which means that he walks around through the audience and insults people in the crowd, thinking he’s Andrew Dice Clay. Not that this would be a compliment.

He is also known to diss other comedians. Hence, this is probably why he thought he could make nasty remarks about Perry’s death and get away with it.

Kevin used to be somewhat relevant in the 90s and early 2000s. Besides his brief and forgettable 15 minutes in the spotlight, no one remembers who he is.
