Eric Trump recently commented on Prince Harry’s visa situation, suggesting it remains secure because, in his view, “no one cares” about the Duke of Sussex or his wife, Meghan Markle, whom he described as “unpopular.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Eric, the 40-year-old son of former President Donald Trump, expressed disappointment over Harry’s perceived betrayal of the British royal family and lamented the damage he believes Harry has inflicted on that institution since moving to the United States.
Eric Trump BLASTS “Irrelevant” and “Unpopular” Prince Harry & Meghan Markle: “No One Cares”
Despite ongoing allegations that Harry may have misrepresented his drug use on his U.S. visa application, Eric asserted that the Duke should not be concerned about deportation should Donald Trump win the upcoming election.
“Honestly, I don’t think anyone in this country is particularly invested in Prince Harry,” Eric stated bluntly. “My father had great respect for the Queen, and the monarchy is a beautiful institution.”
During his conversation at his Palm Beach office, Eric reflected fondly on the late Queen’s hospitality towards the Trump family, recalling a lavish banquet they attended at Buckingham Palace in June 2019. He emphasized the warmth with which the Queen welcomed Donald Trump, noting that it was a remarkable experience for their family.
Eric also spoke of his familiarity with King Charles III, mentioning a long-standing connection and recalling a childhood photo of himself with the King at Mar-a-Lago. He praised the royal couple, William and Kate, highlighting their strong public image and William’s consistent conduct as a future monarch.
In contrast, Eric criticized Harry’s decision to step back from royal duties and relocate to California with Meghan and their son, Archie, in 2020.
He described Harry as a “black sheep” struggling to find his identity, suggesting that Meghan’s unpopularity has further complicated their situation. “It’s sad to see him seemingly lose his way,” Eric remarked.
While Eric expressed little concern regarding Harry’s potential visa issues—stating he didn’t care about the drug allegations—he affirmed the Trump family’s respect for the monarchy. “It’s clear that our family holds the royal family in high esteem,” he stated.
This commentary comes amid renewed scrutiny of Harry’s visa status. A conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation, is pursuing legal action to compel the release of Harry’s visa application details, questioning the legality of his entry into the U.S. given his admissions of drug use in his memoir, Spare.
They argue that visa applicants must disclose drug use, and any failure to do so could result in deportation. The Heritage Foundation has filed to reopen its case after the Department of Homeland Security denied access to Harry’s records, igniting a legal debate that may further complicate the Duke’s status in the U.S.
