Anyone who was around in the 80’s will remember Elvira, Mistress of the Night (AKA Actress Cassandra Peterson), and how popular she used to be around Halloween time. She got her started by hosting Elvira’s movie macabre on KHJ-TV, an LA station, which was a lineup of B horror movies back in the day.
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Elvira and arguably there is probably an entire generation that doesn’t really know who she is, but it seems that Artix Games is setting out to change that. It seems she has been putting her talents to good use by advertising for a game called Adventure Quest 3D or at least she was until the app store decided that her cleavage was too hot to handle and delisted the app!
Elvira’s cleavage gets a game banned from the app store!
That’s right, apparently Elvira’s breasts were too much for the app store and they decided that the image was not brand friendly enough to keep posted.
While the game is good to go in the app store now, for awhile there it had disappeared. What made it reappear, you ask? All Artix had to do was shift the image a bit to the right and cover up to offending cleavage. Elvira herself tweeted when the game was back online.
Fortunately, this didn’t affect the users who had previously downloaded the game but it did kind of hamper any new players from joining for awhile. Fortunately, everything is good to go now and people can download the game again. Good thing because this is just in time for Artix games 20th anniversary “Cursed Anniversary of Doom” event.
Artix Games tweeted that this little rankle did indeed put the “Cursed” in the Cursed Anniversary of Doom. Elvira will be hosting part II of the Cursed Anniversary of Doom event this week, reprising her role as Mistress of the Night once more.
Back in the 80’s we probably would have scoffed at anyone who told us that Elvira would ever be in a video game, but that was before video games gained the popularity that they have now. Now she can go down in history forever immortalized by gamers… something about that is just extremely fitting. Stay tuned!!!
