El Final del Paraíso spoilers reveal a surprising twist. In the last couple of promos, the words “final season” appeared on screen. This seems contrary to what they said when the name change first came out. At the time, they said it was the beginning of a new era, and hinted more seasons are in store. Let’s take a look at how things are shaping up so far.

There’s a lot up in the air yet. First off, there’s the curse that was placed on Catalina Santana (Carmen Villalobos) and her friends. The curse had damned them to lives of prostitution and eventual death. But first, there was another curse that doomed their children. Of the original chicas’ first children, only Mariana Sanín Santana (Stephania Duque) and Valentina Fonseca (Jennifer Arenas) are left standing. We haven’t seen Valentina since the character managed to escape a cannibal off-screen. The curse seemed to still be in effect after the original witch that cast it died, so this would mean Mariana is still in danger. That’s along with the other children they had since. Vanessa currently has a toddler, and Catalina has a son, Sebastian Sanín Santana (Carlos Báez). Yésica “La Diabla” Beltrán (Kimberly Reyes) also has a son, although it’s through a surrogate. That’s something that needs to be wrapped up.

In addition, we have Edmundo “Sombra” Dorantes Borrero (Mauricio Cuja), Santiago Sanín (Roberto Manrique), and José Luis “Jota” Vargas (Francisco Bolívar). They were all accused of crimes they never committed. Early in the season, they staged an escape, determined to prove their innocence. We have a video that exonerates Jota, but Marcela Pinzón (Giovanna Andrade) has yet to clear him officially. Even if they prove they didn’t commit the crimes, there’s still the matter of their escape. After all, one of their fellow escapees died in that attempt, and we’re pretty sure at least one cop might have as well. That’s something that technically shouldn’t just go away. That’s also not getting into the DEA situation, Doña Hilda Santana’s (Catherine Siachoque) pending fashion empire, or the disappearances of Catalina Marín Santana (Carolina Gaitán) and Hernán Darío “Nachi” Bayona (Juan Pablo Urrego).

This season has also added quite a few characters. Alex Mondego (Pedro Calvo) came in to take over his father’s business. They also brought in a Mexican narco (Cuina, played by Jimena Galvis) and her sister, Reina (Alejandra Miranda). These two have a family feud going that is sure to impact the other stories. Cuina is aligned with Diabla now, while Reina is working with Mariana and Ramón “Moncho” Montecarlo (Mauricio Mauad). They’re all plotting against each other, with Alex planning to use Mariana to do his dirty work. El Final del Paraíso spoilers reveal that he wants Mariana and her partner to carry out his bomb plot, then take her out.

There’s also Sebas. After all, he just tried to kill his own father. That is something the characters can’t just ignore. Just like with Mariana, he has a lot to atone for already, and he’s barely dipped his toe into the dark side. And let’s not forget Joanna Andrade (Bárbara Najas). She’s currently locked up, but still causing drama from the inside.

Fans are already taking to Twitter to make their feelings on this sudden announcement known. Some feel misled, as fans had asked if this was it, in light of the name change. People running the official page said no, it was just the beginning of a new era. Others are unsure of how this will resolve, given all the plot arcs still hanging around. All we know is, this is a fun series, although frustrating at times. With how loved it’s been, Telemundo needs to make sure the show gets a proper ending. Whenever that ending may be.
