EastEnders spoilers have revealed that Phil Mitchell has finally agreed on a deal to buy the Queen Vic from Linda and Mick Carter. Viewers will remember that Phil has been trying to get the deal done over the past couple of weeks, and now it would appear that he has finally got his own way. However, Linda ensured that she would also be able to defeat her demons by enlisting the help of Phil as part of the deal.
Phil and the Carters have been going back and forth on the deal over the past couple of weeks. Viewers had believed that Phil had ended all his hopes of getting the deal over the line last week as he had a disagreement with Linda about her alcohol addiction. However, the two characters were able to bond later on in the episode as Phil opened up about his own past experience.
EastEnders Spoilers: Linda and Phil Bond Over Past
The two characters have both had storied pasts when it comes to alcohol problems, but Linda never realised just how hard it could be to overcome before talking honestly to Phil about. He revealed that he doesn’t think that she would be overcome her problems while she is in charge at the Queen Vic, and that selling would help her get better.
She initially believed that he was just telling her that so that she would sell over the pub. But, he later admitted that the reason for him looking out for her is because of how hard it is. Sharon admitted that he was right, but then stunned Phil. She revealed that she will only give the go ahead on the deal, should he agree to be his AA sponsor.
EastEnders Spoilers: Phil Has A Change Of Heart
To begin with Phil adamantly told Linda that he wouldn’t do that for her. He believed that she wasn’t ready to be clean and couldn’t put his name alongside hers. However, later in the episode, Linda was opening up about her battle and speaking honestly. She was unaware that Phil was standing right behind her.
He was touched that she was so honest about her feelings and that she has persuaded him that she is ready to put down the bottle for good. As a result, Phil agreed to be her sponsor, and Sharon agreed to sell the Queen Vic. Phil will still be in a race against time to get the funds, which means viewers will need to continue watching.
