‘Don’t Be Tardy’ spoilers finds that star Kim Zolciak, who is also known for being a longtime cast mate on ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’, recently opened up about a topic that is very personal to her. The reality star said that while she would love to make amends with her estranged parents, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon. Here’s what she has to say.
In a new interview with In The Know, Kim says that she stopped speaking to her parents over a decade ago, when they pulled the plug on their relationship with their granddaughter Brielle and gave negative statements about Kim and her parenting.

To add insult to injury, Kim says that she was shocked to find out that her family was not open with her about her father’s diagnosis.
“I just think when there are certain things that are this serious, I should have been told. And it was casually said to me so I was not expecting it at all. It was very hard for me to swallow,” Kim explained. “I will always love my parents and they’re still my parents, at the end of the day. So to find out that this is this serious was like, ‘Oh God.’”
Kim also said that while she often does think about her family, whatever happened between them, happened, and she’s moving on with her life. That’s because she’s got more important priorities: her husband and her kids.
“I’ve thought all these years, ‘What if something happened to my mom or dad today? Would you regret this time not speaking to them?’ And honestly, my kids come before anybody. I made that decision a long time ago,” Kim shared.
