Don Lemon is on shaky ground at CNN, though he is being welcomed back for the time being. He is one strike away from being fired forever, and he is well aware of this.
According to sources with firsthand knowledge of Don’s case, the seasoned anchor was informed that this was his final caution regarding such behavior when he met with upper management this week to discuss his sexist remarks and the way forward. The next time Don insults his cohosts or fosters a toxic environment (on or off-air), it will be his last with the network, according to what we’re informed was said to him.
Of course, we know Don signed off on taking part in some kind of formal training in addition to agreeing to these conditions. The man is aware of everything because he is scheduled to start working again on Wednesday.
Don Lemon Gets ONE Final Chance, One More Mess Up And He Will Be Gone From CNN
It’s intriguing that Don was offered this ultimatum, particularly given that we know from his circle that he is not content at CNN at all, so maybe he’s looking for an out. Concerning the reason Don was granted such a short leash, the truth is that he tends to divide people. In recent years, Lemon has received negative press coverage (for a variety of reasons), and not just from condemnation from the right.
Ratings are yet another aspect of this that Chris Licht and company must be considering. Don’s scores for his previous primetime position were not only insufficient to keep him there, but they have also plummeted for his new position. Additionally, we’re hearing that CNN employees are still on edge following the episode on Thursday. According to one source, the anger is genuine and hasn’t subsided. It has in fact turned into a diversion.
