Doja Cat has been going live a lot on TikTok lately, but she’s relatively new to the platform so no one can really blame her for not knowing the rules… at least not just yet. Apparently, she didn’t read the part where you can’t vape on TikTok because vaping promotes smoking and on tiktok you can’t always guarantee that your viewers are all consenting adults.

Fans of all ages like Doja Cat and there could be teens in her life, so the mods told her that she needed to either hide the vape or put it out. Doja didn’t know that there were mods on her live either, which is surprising to me because it seemed like every tiktok creator always chose their own mods but maybe they’re just put there by the app? Either way, she didn’t know she was breaking the rules and quickly hid the vape, saying “I don’t smoke.”

It’s okay Doja, we see you.

Apparently, it is against community guidelines to post, stream, or share content promoting the purchase, sale, trade, or solicitation of drugs or other controlled substances, which includes alcohol and tobacco and it does extend to vape pens.

We’re surprised that Doja Cat’s stream didn’t get shut down however because people have been banned for going on live for less. For instance, some rescue organizations that rescue animals have been banned for going on live when they show the realities of rescue, so we’re amazed that Tiktok didn’t get majorly triggered and ban Doja outright.

But it seems that they’ve decided to give her another chance and realize that Doja did not intend to promote smoking to anyone, much less those who are underage.

Rescue organizations aren’t the only ones who have gotten banned from going on lives. There were creators talking about the BLM movement that got banned during the George Floyd riots, and most recently there were creators banned for talking about the CGL pipeline that is slated to go through Indigenous Land and ruin their water supplies, so while we’re glad that Doja Cat didn’t get banned for such an innocent offense, we’re wondering why Tiktok can tolerate that and deem it as inoffensive, but completely ban other creators who have far more worthy causes to discuss? Stay tuned!!!
