He’s not a quitter, he’s a fighter. Reality television star Dog The Bounty Hunter says that he will remain in Florida as the search continues for Gabby Petito’s fugitive boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. This comes after autopsy reports indicated that Gabby was strangled during the time of her death. Here’s what you need to know.

Dog The Bounty Hunter, whose real name is Duane Chapman, joined the search for Brian Laundrie, who is a suspect in the death of 22-year-old Gabby Petito. In an interview with a Florida television station, Chapman said that he had decided to remain in Florida to continue his search for Laundrie despite suffering an ankle injury during the massive manhunt.

He told the news outlet that he made a “change of plans” to return to Colorado because he “couldn’t bring himself to leave.”

Chapman added the coroners’ report is, “Not good for the Laundrie family… Strangulation is not an accident. It looks very bad right now for the Laundrie family.”

Gabby Petito was reported missing and found dead after she and her boyfriend Brian Laundrie embarked on a country-wide road trip this past summer. However, Laundrie returned home to Florida on September 1st without his girlfriend, and 10 days before her mother reported her missing.

Petito’s body was found on September 19 in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park. The coroner said DNA samples were taken by law enforcement.

Petito and Laundrie were involved in a domestic incident on Aug. 12 in Moab, Utah. A witness told police that a “gentleman was slapping the girl” and Petito said that Laundrie “grabbed” her face, but she also told officers that she slapped him. The two were separated for the night and no charges were filed.
