The press and the populace continue to judge and scrutinize the royal family as more photos have been flagged as digitally edited.
Picture Agencies Are Flagging Royal Family Photos Left and Right
Global picture agency Getty Images claims these photos have been doctored. Confirmation of photo editing is new territory for the royal family. Now, they face harsh criticism from the media and public.
The issue has deemed the royal family untrustworthy, as several photos are suspected of being enhanced. Piers Morgan, host of Good Morning Britain, says that
“the royals can’t be trusted.”
Last week, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day photo was pulled by major photo agencies. Morgan accused the couple of
“covering something up.”
In William and Kate’s 2023 Christmas card photo was annihilated. The picture shows the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte, in crisp white button-down shirts.
William, George, and Louis coordinated in dark slacks, while Kate and Charlotte wore jeans. Charlotte and Louis wore matching canvas sneakers. To be precise, Prince Louis appears to be missing a finger– the middle finger on his left hand.
It also looked as if William was missing a leg and Kate was missing a foot. Eagle-eyed royal fans were speedy in pointing out the discrepancies in the photo.
Kate’s Photo of Queen Elizabeth and Her Grandchildren Was Edited
A photo of Queen Elizabeth with her great-grandchildren. Princess Catherine took the photo one month before the monarch’s passing, and it was another “Photoshop fail.” Kate took the picture at Balmoral in August 2022.
In the photo, it appeared as if parts of the sofa had been “spliced” together, and the line of the Queen’s skirt did not match.

Black patches are also visible behind Prince George and Louis, which suggests heavy editing. Also, the green shading on the sofa looks unnatural.
However, this particular snap was afforded some grace, as it’s not easy to take a picture with a bunch of children.
Another photo taken in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip’s 99th birthday in 2020, was taken with Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh standing in front of Windsor Castle.
In this snap, the Queen’s right hand was dimmer than her left, and There was a dark shadow around her hand. Social media hounds suggested the photographer did not take the photo outside the castle.
There was an apparent lighting discrepancy between the Queen and Philip and an overexposed backdrop. In another picture taken to commemorate Prince George’s first birthday in 2014, people noticed that William suddenly seemed to have had a bit of hair covering his bald spot.
Editing Family Photos Is Not A Crime
The picture is of William lovingly holding his son and kissing the top of his tiny head. The photo is certainly heartwarming, but the sudden extra hair is hard to ignore.
Another Christmas card photo from the (then) Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, taken in 2015, was of the happy couple outdoors with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who was a baby. It was said that the picture of Charlotte had been digitally altered.
Her little face was very clear compared to her blurry neck and shoulders. It looked like Charlotte’s face had been edited from a different picture.
A royal expert says that in these photos, there are several “glaring mistakes,” and perhaps if the editor had done a better job with the photo, it wouldn’t have been an issue.
All this comes after William and Kate’s well-intended Mother’s Day photo was slammed for Kate’s poor editing job. William took the picture, and Kate edited it. Edits were made to the Princess’s face, sweater, hair, and skirt. There were also several copies and pastes.
The trees in the background were supposedly “very green,” possibly too green for March. The other, more sensible side of the coin is that none of this is a huge deal. Doctoring a family photo is not a crime.
Former President Trump says many foolish things, but one thing he said about Kate’s photo was reasonable in that “everybody doctors” photos.
People are acting like this is a reason not to trust the royal family, but the truth is that people love a good scandal, and right now, Kate Middleton and the royal family’s edited photos seem to fit the bill.
