Disney+’s ‘The Mandalorian’ paid special homage to a certain quest from the MMORPG ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ is it’s season 2 opener! Among all of the amazing cameos, Timothy Olyphant and the return of Boba Fett, there was another thing that stood out.

If you’re a fan of the game, you may have recognized the Krayt Dragon, the manner in which they killed it, and a certain pearl. In the game, you get tasked with killing a Krayt Dragon, and the way you do it is by using a Bantha for bait and luring it into a lot of mines. A lot of mines.

Once you complete the quest, you get a Krayt Dragon pearl which is used in upgrading your lightsaber. Not only is this a cool reference to a fantastic game, but it could also set up the fact that we may be seeing Jedi, or at least lightsabers soon!

While the reference may be a bit of an older one (the game dates back to 2003), surely there are plenty of fans out there that remember questing on Tatooine and completing this quest!

What did you think of the season 2 opener of ‘The Mandalorian’ and what was your favorite part? From the ‘Deadwood’ reunion to this great quest reference, there was a lot to love. Now, we look forward to seeing Boba Fett gain some screen time. It’s been too long, we must know what he’s been up to!

What do you think? Did you notice this reference to the quest? Let us know in the comments below.
