The hype from the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial has continued after Gofundme had to shut down a fundraiser alleging to be from Heard.
Gofundme Shuts Down A Fundraiser Falsely Wanting $1 million On Behalf Of Amber Heard-‘Hopefully, She Got Some Pledges And No Donations’
Amber, for her part, came second best when it came to the defamation trial. As a result, she has been ordered to pay a judgment close to $10 million to Depp. While that may be the case, her attorney Elaine Bredehoft has already made it clear that her client does not have the means to pay.
With that being said, it was reasonable for Amber to look for some ways to raise the funds after her attorney confirmed Heard’s intention to appeal. And yet, it seems that the following fundraiser was set up under false pretences. In the now taken-down fundraiser, we can see that a target of $1 million had been set up.
It was set up by someone named Kimberly Moore, who was alleged to have been in contact with Heard’s legal team. The description of the fundraiser said the following: “I believe Amber, and social media protected the abuser. The judgment exceeds her net worth.
“It’s so sad that he was able to get away with the abuse. The judgment furthers that abuse. If you can please help her.” This is not the first incident that has resulted in people trying to make money from the case.
Other reports have also confirmed that the wristbands that were worn by people attending the courtroom have also gone up on sale via Ebay. So much so that one was purported to have been advertised for $850. And with Amber in need of money, it seems that others are profiting from her misery.
And in keeping with that, the fans on social media did not hold back. A certain subset of people began to troll Heard, thus exacerbating her current predicaments. One person wrote: “Hopefully, she got some pledges and no donations and then she’ll finally realise the difference between the two.”
