‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers here and we’re ready with a hot take that may not be popular among the Horton faithful.

Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) has been walking on a thin line for weeks as he tried to control his rage.

Finding out he was scammed out of half his inheritance was one thing, but then thinking Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) betrayed him and their brother Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) was too much.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Xander and Philip are the Victims

So, he reverted back to his thug life to teach Philip a lesson. He simply couldn’t take any more betrayals from someone he learned to trust and care about.

Then there was learning his whole family knew and didn’t tell him.

As for Philip, he was manipulated not by one, but two mothers into conning Xander.

Several times he wanted to come clean but was talked out of it by Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). And then he went behind Xander’s back to prove himself instead of just working to redeem himself.

We’re not excusing their actions, but both men were manipulated and betrayed by those they trust.

And now, both are bearing the weight of the Horton piousy and Kiriakis blood thirstiness.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers’: Betrayed by all

As mentioned above, ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers don’t condone what Xander and Philip did. Especially not Xander, though it can be said Philip earned being roughed up.

Xander apologized for beating him and Philip apologized for his role. Xander could’ve still ended him when he woke, but he chose peace. That speaks volumes to who he is when he can remain in control.

Everyone who lied to him is now standing over him in judgement.

Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers), Kate, and Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) all played a hand in it and aren’t taking any responsibility or offering an apology.

Alex did apologize and worked to redeem himself to Xander, but now he’s using this as an opportunity to take over Titan-DiMera.

Sarah is her usual self in not accepting any responsibility and putting it all on Xander. She doesn’t know he didn’t attack Philip because of the lie, but it doesn’t matter.

And Maggie is right there with her as a good mom because Horton’s don’t apologize.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Kate’s way out of line

We love how Kate will stand by her idiot sons no matter what, but in this case she’s one of the more guilty parties. She was in on the con nearly from the beginning.

Philip was iffy on it and wanted her to talk him out of it. But she surprised him by siding with him and proclaiming he had as much right to the company.

The argument about Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) naming him in the will had he been mentally healthy is a strawman’s argument. Victor gave him multiple chances and Philip failed.

The will was about Victor making things right with Xander. Plain and simple.

By encouraging Philip to keep going numerous times knowing Xander was volatile, puts her at the top of the blame.

To us, Sarah and Kate are at the top. Granted, we can understand why Sarah remained quiet. It made sense, but in the end Xander showed she was wrong to make that assumption.

As for Kate, she just wanted her son to share in the Kiriakis empire by any means necessary.

All their machinations put Xander and Philp on a collision course, and now the brothers are taking the brunt of the blame. One for delivering the beating, and the other for not fingering Xander for beating him.

What do you think about Xander and Philip being the real victims? Let us know in the comments below.
