‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers suggest that Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Arianna Horton’s (Marrissa Reyes) mother/daughter relationship is one of the best on DOOL.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Jimenez and Reyes Have Superb Chemistry
In the March 18th episode of DOOL, Arianna and Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) had a very emotionally charged falling out, which left a brokenhearted Ari in tears.
Arianna was visibly upset as she wandered around Horton Square when Gabi noticed her daughter, not so far off, crying.
Gabi called Ari over and asked what was wrong. Ari cried that she had lost her best friend. She told Gabi that she could no longer tolerate Holly’s blatant disrespect toward her and Ari explained that she told Holly that one of them had to move out of their dorm room.

Holly decided she would pack her stuff and leave. Ari asked her mom if she’d overreacted. Gabi comforted her daughter and said that Ari was only trying to protect her peace.
She encouraged Ari to “live her best life” and not worry about Holly or anyone else. Gabi knew exactly what to say to her daughter to reassure her.
Cherie Jimenez has superb chemistry with Marrissa Reyes, and it’s a shame Reyes will soon be vacating the role of Arianna, and a recast will come in April.

Jimenez played every beat of that scene with heart, and for a moment, the viewer forgot they were watching a refreshing scene between two gifted actresses, and not a real-life mother/daughter duo.
Reyes is also very believable as Gabi’s daughter, as she clearly shares Gabi’s spunk and sass. All of Reyes and Jimenez’s scenes together are relatable and authentic.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Gabi Opened Up to Ari About Her Past
Jimenez has really been knocking it out of the park as Gabi Hernandez, and no one gives her the credit she deserves. She’s kept much of the same energy Camilla Banus had, but she puts her own spin on the character.
When Gabi explained Ari’s birth origins to her. She opened up to her teenage daughter about the chaotic circumstances of Arianna’s birth and her abusive relationship with Nick Fallon (Blake Berris).
She pretended Nick was Ari’s father and had him listed on the birth certificate to cover up that Will Horton (Chandler Massey) was her baby’s father.

The true paternity was revealed at Gabi and Nick’s wedding. However, Nick blackmailed Will into relinquishing his parental rights. Will and his boyfriend, Sonny Kirikais (Freddie Smith), saved Nick and Gabi from a kidnapper.
After that, Sonny helped deliver Arianna, and Gabi had Will named as Arianna’s father on the birth certificate. Gabi also divulged to Ari the details of her traumatic past, including her time in prison.
Jimenez also played that scene with raw emotion, and the actress succeeded in conveying the pain of Gabi’s past. It’s obvious that Jimenez has made the role her own, and she never receives the accolades she should.

We can’t wait to see how Gabi handles her daughter’s new romance with bad boy, Liam Selejko (Hank Nortrop). It’s going to be a treat to watch.
Recasts can be difficult for fans to accept, but after Banus’s effective and widely praised run as Gabi Hernandez, Jimenez has been a wonderful surprise.
