'Days of Our Lives' Spoilers: Shocking Reality Check - Why Salem Needs To Get Over Itself!

‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers indicate that Salem might need a dose of reality. Following Julie Williams’ (Susan Seaforth Hayes) heart attack, Lani Price (Sal Stowers) ripped Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) a new one for not helping Julie and basically said she’s an evil monster who left a woman to die. Let’s take a step back here, shall we?

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: In defense of Gabi

Gabi was obviously upset about the incident, which she has made very clear. She had every reason to believe Julie was faking, as she’d done it before. This is why we don’t cry wolf, people.

It’s funny how Julie’s previous faking doesn’t seem to be an issue at all, nor does the fact Gabi has outright denied previously throwing Julie down the stairs. They do know Julie exaggerates situations, so why does Salem seem so bent on calling her a monster?

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: He without sin…

It’s not like Salem is this innocent place filled with virtue. Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) was just as involved in the whole Leo Stark (Greg Rikkart) mess as anyone, but she’s not all that hated by the general population. Not even by Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), who gave her a job despite the damage her plot did to his company.

Let’s look at Victor, btw. We do love the guy and his one-liners, but he hasn’t exactly been an angel over the years, yet people are okay with him in general.
Gabi was apparently abused by her ex, but people don’t care about that. They just see her as a murderer for it (particularly Julie), but how many others in Salem have killed, blackmailed, or schemed to destroy another person/their livelihood?

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Do as I say, not as I do

Then there’s the latest situation with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). Despite his denial, we don’t buy for a second he didn’t have doubts about Not-Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker). He mentioned to Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) he was thinking about Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) while sleeping with Not-Nicole. Plus, he mentioned the scar where Kristen’s tattoo used to be, and he even mentioned noticing something different about her.

Even so, he expresses concern to Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) over her relationship with Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson). He thinks she’s making a mistake falling for someone like Ben. Ciara rightfully calls him out on this, which he tries to justify. What’s really going on here is a “do as I say, not as I do” situation. The fact this family still has such a problem with Ben given he saved her life several times is confusing. Besides, the almost universally-loved and respected Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) has vouched for him. Seems they only take her word for stuff when it’s convenient to them.

If the writers want us to actually root for the so-called good guys, they shouldn’t be so clearly hypocritical and unfair in a lot of situations.
