‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers love Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).

He’s fun, entertaining, and stresses easily. We can tell when he’s getting ready to blow when he starts turning red in the neck and it moves upwards.

He’s a fun character, but when it comes to being a father he’s one of the worst on soaps.

We’re grateful he doesn’t use his children and family like they’re pawns like other soap dads.

We can thank John Black (Drake Hogestyn) for that. He was a great role model.

Unfortunately, Brady keeps falling short and lets the rest of his family dictate how he treats his children.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Not allowed to grow into his father role

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers think Brady is doing the best he can, and he relies on Marlena Evans (Diedre Hall)’s wisdom.

We don’t blame him, but she was half of the team. John had an insight she lacks.

As for Brady, he missed raising Tate Black (Leo Howard) and was handed a freshly aged teenager.

He’s been running to catch up ever since, and it shows.

While Tate was and is his own handful of chaos like any young person, Rachel Black (Lorelei Mote) is a different story.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Mommy’s girl

Rachel destroyed the whole nature versus nurture debate. Well, the old Rachel before her character was changed.

She was initially raised by Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), but spent a bulk of her childhood with Brady, John, and Marlena.

And she remained a little Kristen throughout.

As for Brady, he always had help from John and Marlena.

He never got the chance to grow.

So when he didn’t think of talking to Rachel before the hearing, or checking her meds bottle, it makes sense.

Even his outrage at Marlena cooling makes sense as he relies on her.

At some point he’s going to have to break away and parent as he feels is best, and if that means ripping into Marlena, then so be it.

Until he stands on his own, he’ll fall short of being the father he can be.

Or maybe he’s destined to always fall short? Will Brady learn to stand in his own?
