There are those moments on the internet when you do not go searching for things but rather, they find you, and when they find you you are a combination of confused, shocked, and and sometimes even horrified by your discovery.
In the case of Darcey and Stacey Silva‘s merch line, House of 11’s newest offering we weren’t entirely sure what to think but realize that ultimately there is a market for such merchandise, even if we would never understand quite why, but… we’ll let you draw your own conclusions there. Apparently the House of 11 has started selling Merkin wigs. Those of you who frequent TikTok will have already heard of this term and have probably already burst out laughing.

For those of you unfamiliar with the term however, a Merkin wig is a wig for a woman’s nether regions. Now, considering the sheer amount that most women spend in hair removal a year the fact that there is even a market for this is quite puzzling, but we have to remember that not all ladyscapes are alike or maintained in quite the same way and who knows maybe there is a woman out there who just wants to get her hippie vibes on and live as nature intended for a little while.
Or maybe a normally well-groomed lass wants to kick her heels up at the local crunchy and groovy nudist colony and “blend in” so to speak. There’s several different shades, including a salt and pepper one for those ladies who just want that extra shade of authenticity.
Aside from private use there is also use for this sort of product in stage and film. Normally, actresses are asked to shave bare, but some roles may actually require an actress to go au naturale. Instead of foregoing one’s Brazilian, an intimacy coordinator (quite possibly) may request that the actress simply wear a Merkin.
After all, us ladies all know how uncomfortable that regrowth can be! And simply taping a wig to a certain body part isn’t like foregoing one’s grooming routine. Although God help those who are allergic to spirit gum. We really don’t know why Darcey and Stacey got in on the Merkin market but we have to say that the sheer audacity makes perfect sense for them.
